الإطلاق والتقييد في الألفاظ ؛ بيان مفهوم المطلق ، وحقيقته ، ومدلوله " ما يقتضيه " ، حكمة ورود بعض الألفاظ مطلقة بلا قيود ، دلالة المطلق . والمطلق لفظ دلّ على فرد شائع في جنسه ، أو هو النكرة في سياق الإثبات ، لأن النكرة في سياق النفي أو النهي تقتضي العموم ، والمطلق أصلاً هو من الخاص فافترقا .
