Air-Standard Otto Cycle-1

The internal combustion (IC) engine is usually applied to reciprocating engines of the type commonly used in automobiles, trucks, and buses. Two principal types of reciprocating internal combustion engines are the spark-ignition engine (Actual Otto engine) and the compression-ignition engine (Actual Diesel engine). The air standard Otto cycle is an ideal cycle that assumes heat addition occurs instantaneously while the piston is at top dead center.
