تستعرض ھذه المحاضرة تخطیط المدن والعمارة المدنیة في مصر الفرعونیة. وتناقش أنواع المدن المصریة القدیمة وأمثلة علیھا وتستعرض طبیعة تخطیط احیائھا ومبانیھا السكنیة. وتؤكد في الختام أن تلك الإنجازات المدنیة جاءت ملبیة للاحتیاجات الوظیفیة والاجتماعیة والدینیة والسیاسیة والتي سادت حیاة الفراعنة. وقدمت نماذج تخطیطیة وھندسیة متعددة سواء على مستوى تخطیط المدن أم على مستوى البیت الواحد، والتي أبرزت الدور الحضاري المتقدم الذي وصل الیة مھندسوا الفراعنة في ذلك الوقت.
