Coordination Compounds Iii Electronic Spectra 1

To explain coordination compound spectra, the lecture describes multi-electronic couplings in a given gaseous atom/ion. Spin-spin coupling, orbit-orbit coupling and spin-orbit coupling are all discussed. The concept of term symbol is then introduced. Energy levels of different states are also discussed based on different rules.
