الفن هو انجاز انساني جمالي يظهر فيه الابداع والابتكار لأنماط جديدة وقد بدأ الإنسان في ممارسة الفن منذ 30 ألف سنة، وكانت الرسوم تتكون من أشكال الحيوانات وعلامات تجريدية رمزية فوق جدران الكهوف. وامتازت بخصائص مختلفة كالنقش على الصخر ورسم صراعات الإنسان مع الحيوانات المتوحشة ورسم بعض الرموز لتزيين مسكنه وأدواته والرسم على المقابر والقصور. التعريف الشامل للفن هو إبداع وإبتكار أنماط وأشكال جديدة يعبر من خلاله الإنسان الفنان عن نفسه ومشاعره .
