Description:
Adrenal cortex under the influence of ACTH produce Mineralocorticoids (aldosterone) which help control the balance of minerals and water in the blood. And Glucocorticoids (cortisol) which influence the energy metabolism of most body cells and help resist stressors. Cortisol rises blood levels of glucose, fatty acids, and amino acids. CUSHING syndrome Results from excess Glucocorticoids secretion Due to ACTH-releasing malignancy. The pancreas is a mixed gland composed of both endocrine and exocrine gland cells. The most endocrine pancreatic hormones that affects the glucose level are insulin and glucagon.
