This lecture is divided into two sections. In the first section, students are introduced to the process of writing an explanation letter. In particular, we discuss the contexts when writing an explanation letter is important, the main elements of a good explanation letter and the format that should be used when writing an explanation letter. In the second section, we introduce the process of writing a problem-solution email. In doing so, we highlight the purpose of writing problem-solution emails, and the main elements that should feature in a good problem-solution email. During this lecture, students engage in drafting a sample explanation letter and a problem solution email.
