Description:

This lecture aims at introducing the students to the grammar of “used to and be used to”, because the teachers noticed their misuse of it. The lecture starts with giving the students language feedback for their speeches, then it moves to the main topic of using “used to”. The teacher uses different methods of teaching like displaying a video about things that people used to, asking the students to tell their groups about their past habits, and guess what the teacher used to do from a few pictures. The topic shifts from discussing the structure of “used to” to the structure of “be used to”, to have the students differentiate between them. The teacher mentions two actions that she is used to doing, and the students have to notice if it is said in a correct or incorrect way. Its structure is explained afterwards. The lecture ends with a preparation activity for a speaking practice on the two explained structures.
